Shaman's Harvest achieved significant success with the independently released Shine album, which featured "Dragonfly." The hit song rose to number #16 on Billboard's Active Rock chart and #9 at Heritage Rock, selling over 130,000 singles and 30,000 albums. To date, the video has been viewed 2.3 million times on YouTube. Additionally, the composition was featured on the soundtrack of the major motion picture Legendary. In 2010, Shaman's Harvest recorded "Broken Dreams" for the WWE as the theme song for wrestler Drew McIntyre, and cut "End of Days" as the entrance track for Wade Barrett and The Corre. The new album features an exclusive unplugged version of Dragonfly, and the new single Dangerous. The songs are cinematic, and offer audio beds for flashback memories or present experiences that are our lives. Lead singer Nathan Hunt states, "Whether they're driving down the highway, at work, or doin' the nasty, these songs should be the soundtrack. I think people will accept the diversity from song to song whether it's a riff rock vibe like 'Here It Comes' or it's a darker, emotional anthem such as 'Ten Million Voices' without categorizing Shaman's."
I love this group and this cd does not disappoint! If you are like me and mourn the demise of just plain good old hard rock n roll with heart pounding drums, screaming guitars, and clear vocals, then you need to check out this group. I've been a fan for years but I think this is my favorite cd. If you are looking for the original version of "Dragonfly" then be forewarned that is has the extended acoustical one, not the original. Even so, this still provides the suspenseful feeling build up of the original, just in a softer, somewhat slower version. All cds tend to have at least a couple of songs that even the most die-hard fans skip over as well as the tracks you set to repeat. On this cd, those tracks are "Country as F..k" for the former, with frenetic and often discordant screaming, this song doesn't feel like it belongs on this cd as it's insanely different from the rest of the song, more Jackyl-esque. As for the latter, there are more songs I can listen to on repeat than not. I especially love "Blood in the Water" from which lyrics the album title comes from, and "Chains". But seriously, if you love good old fashioned rock with timeless lyrics, I don't think you'll go wrong with this cd.Great recordDamn what a good album. I'm sure I'm very late to the party, but I just discovered Shamans Harvest and I love this album. I'm a big Alter Bridge/Tremonti/Black Stone Cherry etc etc fan and always appreciate finding great new music. In Chains is one of the best new songs I've heard in a long time, but the whole album is just great. This is just great music!I love Shaman's Harvest. I first heard the cover of "Dirty Diana" on the radio and was blown away by it. Took me a minute to recognize the song, as I didn't like the Michael Jackson version that much! Took a chance and ordered this and every song on it is good. Love it, plan to buy more Shaman's Harvest CDs. I don't have the data allowance on my satellite internet to stream music (only service availabel where I liveLove the groupIt's been many years since a CD has blown me away like this one has. Kept hearing them on Sirius Octane and decided I MUST HAVE THIS! What the heck took me so long?! OMG! There's not a lemon on this! Each song stands on it's own. Not like most bands who seem to have a 'sound' & copy it over & over. Especially like the acoustic versions which show ANY true band's muscle. The guitar work is well done, the vocals gave me eargasms, what more can I say...Why are you still reading this review?! Buy this puppy already!First Shaman's Harvest purchase. I really like this CD. It is an interesting mix of music - hard rock, country rock, ballads. I think the best songs are Dangerous, Dirty Diana, Smokin Hearts & Broken Guns, Hero. Though I like the music for Country as F*ck, the lyrics are a little weak. If you like hard rock or country rock, this CD is a must have. There honestly isn't a bad song on it.Good album from a band I picked up on via the billboard charts. Basically hard rock, some southern/country influence but a decent variety to keep you interested in the whole album. Dangerous is the track I first heard but that is not necessarily indicative of the whole album. The cover of Michael Jackson's Dirty Diana is a seemingly unusual choice but they have made a good job of it.Discovered on Spotify purchased on Amazon. Great music available on a traditional format for someone with only a CD player in his car.I love it, great tracks on the album. Dangerous is by far my favorite, but every song is awesome. It also arrived a day early which was great.Very good speedy service. 6 out of 10 for the CD.very good
